You Are My Sunshine!

Hello Lovelies!

It’s been a few weeks, I know.  Life got busy all at once.  But now I’m back in stride again!  I wanted to share with you all a few of the pictures from a family baby shower held at my house last weekend. My cousin Frank and his wife Alisha are welcoming a baby girl to the family very soon.  His sisters, Renee and Morgan, put together a lovely shower to celebrate them and the newest addition to the family, Natalie Harper Swanson. There is nothing like showering family with LOVE and gifts.

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Because He Lives

John 11:25 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”

I hope everyone was able to spend time with loved ones on Easter Sunday.  I was able to spend my Easter with some, not all, of my family.  While moving to North Carolina took us away from most of our family, it brought us closer to others.  For that, I am grateful.  The weather was nice and we were able to enjoy dinner on my deck.  Great food, great friends and family.  I truly couldn’t have asked for more.

Until Next Time!

Isn’t She Lovely

It’s almost hard for me to believe, but exactly twenty years ago, on this day, I became a mother for the first and only time.  My daughter came three months early and only weighed 2 lbs. and 2 oz.  I was the scariest and yet the most amazing thing I have ever done. The forever love of my life, Courtney R. Young.

Yesterday, along with some of our family, we took Courtney to her favorite restaurant, Cheesecake Factory, to celebrate her milestone. And of course do a little shopping.

I can’t say I remember the pain from twenty years ago, however, the fear, pride and the love will never subside.  Fear that I’m doing this mother thing all wrong.  Pride in the amazing person that she is becoming and love for her that knows no limits.  She amazes, challenges and teaches me all the time.  I hope she is as proud of me as her mother, as I am of her as my daughter.

Happy Birthday Courtney!  Twenty never looked so good!

Until Next Time!
